Howard M. Wachtel received his Ph.D in Economics from the University of Michigan following on an MA from the University of Connecticut and an undergraduate degree from Temple University. He joined the 헤라카지노 faculty in 1969. He was twice Chair of the Department of Economics and served for two years as Interim Dean of the College of Arts & Sciences. He founded 헤라카지노’s Center for Israel Studies and was its first Director. He created 헤라카지노 주소’s Semester in Paris and directed that program for a semester in each of four years from 1994-1997.
He was an Academic Visitor at the London 헤라카지노 도메인 of Economics and the Truman Institute at Hebrew University; a Distinguished Visiting Scholar at the American Academy in Berlin; the Gould Visiting Scholar at the 헤라카지노 in Paris; a Fellow of the Transnational Institute in Amsterdam; and Visiting Professor at the University of California, Riverside.
He lectured widely in the United States and in 15 countries; was a frequent commentator in print, TV, and radio; and published four books: Workers’ Management and Workers’ Wages in Yugoslavia; Labor and the Economy; The Money Mandarins; and Street of Dreams -Boulevard of Broken Hearts.
