His research interests focus on network optimization and applications of metaheuristics to optimization problems. He has published more than 90 technical articles in a variety of areas. He has edited special issues of Interfaces(2008, 1995); American Journal of Mathematical and Management Sciences(1992); Socio-Economic Planning Sciences(1991); and Computers & Operations Research(2003, 1986). He edited Excellence in Management Science Practice (Prentice Hall, 1992) and the Analytic Hierarchy Process (Springer-Verlag, 1989). Currently, he serves as feature article editor of the INFORMS Journal on Computingand associate editor of INFOR: Canadian Journal of Operational Research and Information Processing.
