Photo of Dr. Oakley and information about the eventGeorgia State Professor of Sociology  will join MPC on Tuesday, March 25 at 5:30 pm (in 헤라카지노 주소 Watkins Building room 106) to discuss HOPE VI and public housing tenant activism in Atlanta, GA. Dr. Oakley's research focuses on urban social inequalities, particularly about race, housing, the built environment, and the spatial arrangements of urban policies. Her collaborative work concerning the federally approved demolition of Atlanta's public housing led to her invited testimony before Congress on housing preservation and the Neighborhood Choice Initiative. RSVP here.

Jones, Director for the Center on Politics and Race in America Rutgers University–Newark discusssed his new book, On Wednesday, October 2 at 5:15 pm at the . Dr. Jones is an Associate Professor of Africana Studies and Sociology and the inaugural director of the Sheila Y. Oliver Center for Politics and Race in America at Rutgers University, Newark. His newest work analyzes how racism shapes the US congressional workplace and in return, how Black staffers resist unequal and racist work conditions.
